Thirty years in Highland Village, and a new name.

Annie Larson and Riva Rains (née Larson) are sisters and lifelong Highland Park and Mac-Groveland residents. They took over running the Highland Backrub in August 2026, after enjoying years of bodywork there.

Annie received her marketing degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and worked at the Highland Backrub from 2023 through early 2026 in a marketing role. She now works for Medica as a document specialist. When she is not working you can often find her at the dog park with Zita, or watching Dateline.

Riva graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Nursing and has been a nurse for almost two decades at United Hospital, which is why she needs bodywork so often. When she is not working she keeps busy with her three kids and her husband, sporting events, gardening, or finding something around the house to organize.

In March 2026 they also opened Highland Park Chair Massage, a mobile business that brings licensed massage therapists and portable massage chairs to your event.

Together they look forward to running the studio under its new name, and to meeting all the wonderful existing and new clients and neighbors.
